According to the requirements of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China on the first-round selection of the 10th batch of cadres aiding Xinjiang, Wang Yun from the Neurology Department was selected for a 1.5-year aid mission in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University. According to the requirement of the Notice on Sending Flexible Medical and Health Talents to Carry out Medical Aid Work in Kashgar in 2020 issued by the Health Commission of Shandong Province, the Hospital sent Wei Chao, an ophthalmologist, to carry out a one-year medical aid mission in the People's Hospital of Shule County in Kashgar.

At the same time, as a member of the second round of the ninth batch of cadres aiding Xinjiang sent by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Education, Dr. Su Xianshuang from the Department of Stomatology finished the one year and a half medical aid mission in Xinjiang and returned safely and triumphantly.

In the symposium, the hospital leader gave full affirmation to Doctor Su’s work during the aid, and asked him to take good rest from the jet lag before continuing to contribute to the health sector. He raised four requirements to the two doctors who were about to aid Xinjiang. First, they should take right political stance and ensure the successful completion of the aid mission. Second, they should pay attention to their own safety, and put safety and stability in the first place. Third, they should take every opportunity to communicate, exchange and learn, and build a bridge of cooperation and exchange between the Second Hospital of Shandong University and its pair-up assistance hospital in the aid program while developing a variety of cooperation and aid modes online and offline. Fourth, they should ensure a good balance between work and life. Both doctors expressed their determination to complete the task successfully.

On September 21, Wang Yun and Wei Chao set off for Xinjiang from Beijing and Jinan respectively. Relevant personnel from functional and clinical departments were there to see them off.
