Recently, Shandong Medical Association announced the evaluation results of the 2020 Shandong Medical Science and Technology Award. The Second Hospital of Shandong University won the first prize, the second prize and the third prize of the scientific and technological innovation achievement award.

The research project "Basic Research on Small Chemical Molecular Intervention in the Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease" by Professor Bi Jianzhong from the Department of Neurology won the first prize. The project of "Mechanism of TGF-β1-Smads Signal Transferring Pathway in the Formation of Pulmonary Fibrosis in Silicosis Rats and the Intervention Effect of Qidan Granules" lead by Professor Wang Wei from the Department of Respiratory Medicine won the second prize. The project of "Innovation and Application of the Combination of Endoscopy and Pathology to Improve Diagnosis and Treatment Rate of Early Gastrointestinal Cancer" led by Professor Zhou Chengjun from the Department of Pathology, won the third prize.

Shandong Medical Science and Technology Award is the science and technology award in the medicine and health industry in Shandong Province. It is reviewed and awarded once a year, including 2 first prizes, 21 second prizes and 85 third prizes (including 15 grass-roots awards). It mainly rewards the individuals and collectives who have made outstanding contributions in the process of promoting the progress of medical and health science and technology in Shandong province.
