The General Medical Department of the Second Hospital of Shandong University was formally established in October 2015. At the beginning of its establishment, it was affiliated to Geriatrics Department. The General Medical Department consists of outpatient clinic, wards and special examination rooms. In September 2019, the General Medical Department was set up and operated independently, sharing the same ward and nursing unit with the Geriatrics Department. The General Medical Department currently has 16 doctors, all with a master’s degree or above, including 2 with the senior title, 2 with the vice-senior title and 11 with a doctoral degree. The Department covers cardiovascular medicine, neurology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general medicine, rehabilitation medicine and other specialties. At present, there are 18 beds available, as well as two-bed wards and three-bed wards. The wards are featured with elegant environment, complete facilities, and are equipped with electric multifunctional beds, central air conditioning and closed-circuit television, thus providing patients with convenient, fast and warm general medical services. Thanks to the equipped central ECG monitor, fully automatic ECG analysis, multi-function ventilator, CPAP non-invasive ventilator and biphasic automatic defibrillator, it can provide high-quality medical care services for all patients.
