The Reproductive Medicine Department of the Second Hospital of Shandong University was prepared to build in 2014 and put into official use on Mar. 1, 2018. The Department has 16 full-time members, including 2 chief physicians/professors, 1 master supervisor, 1 associate chief physician, 6 attending doctors, 2 laboratory technicians, and 4 nurses. Among them, 4 have doctoral degree and 6 have master’s degree. All members have been professionally trained in national assisted reproductive technology training base and qualified for assisted reproduction
The Department occupies an area of nearly 800m2 and is divided into the Diagnosis and Treatment Zone and the Laboratory Zone. The Diagnosis and Treatment Zone contains the Specialist Clinic of Reproductive Medicine, Recurrent Abortion Outpatient, Male Outpatient, Follicular Monitoring Room, Semen Laboratory, etc. The Laboratory Zone consists of the Ultra-clean Laminar Flow Embryo Laboratory, Artificial Insemination Laboratory, operating room, etc. and is equipped with microscopic ultraclean workstation, flow cytometer, 3D color Doppler ultrasound diagnostics, sperm analyzer and such other advanced equipment.
Scope of diagnosis and treatment: standardized diagnosis and treatment of male and female infertility, recurrent abortion, polycystic ovarian syndrome, threatened abortion tocolysis, abnormal uterine bleeding, early onset ovarian insufficiency, premature ovarian failure, hyperprolactinemia, menoxenia and other reproductive endocrine diseases as well as consultation for eugenics, physical examination before pregnancy, sterilitas virilis and reproduction-related male diseases, etc.
