Good news from the Jinan New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Pilot Area! On November 1st, the topping-out ceremony was held for the Second Hospital of Shandong University North Campus (Phase One) project, laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive delivery of the hospital.

This project, identified as a crucial provincial and municipal undertaking, has received significant attention and strong support from leaders at all levels. With the active collaboration of various teams, the project department has successfully laid a solid foundation through careful planning, adhered to the project timeline, and executed the construction with precision. This has resulted in the completion of the main structural work at a high standard and pace, surpassing the anticipated milestones ahead of schedule.

The topping-out of the main structure marks a significant milestone for the Second Hospital of Shandong University North Campus (Phase One) project, and signifies an exciting beginning for subsequent work. The Second Hospital of Shandong University will make every effort to plan for the entry of top academic teams, striving to develop this project into a domestically first-class and internationally renowned medical, teaching, and research center, thereby contributing to the development of the pilot area into a medical center of excellence.

Located in the Cuizhai area of Jinan's Pilot Zone, the Phase One project of the North Campus of the Second Hospital of Shandong University is designed to meet international advanced and domestic leading standards. It is constructed as a Grade A tertiary comprehensive hospital with 1000 beds. The project encompasses various facilities, including an Emergency Center, Outpatient Department, Comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment Center, Infectious Diseases Department, and Ward Building, with a total construction area of approximately 182,300 square meters. The project is undertaken by the Fourth Engineering Department of Jinan Urban Construction Group, with China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp. Ltd. as the general contractor. Construction commenced on December 20, 2021, and is expected to be completed and delivered by the end of 2023. As a key livelihood project in Shandong Province and the first Grade A tertiary comprehensive hospital in the Pilot Zone, it will play a pivotal role in providing robust public health security for the north bank of the provincial capital and surrounding areas after its completion.

As the first high-quality medical facility under construction in Jinan's Pilot Zone, the completion of the North Campus of the Second Hospital of Shandong University will integrate high-level medical resources into the Pilot Zone, catering to the healthcare needs of the residents. Simultaneously, it will coordinate and promote the integrated development of surrounding medium-sized hospitals in the form of a medical consortium. This initiative will radiate to the northern areas of Jinan, comprehensively enhancing the healthcare standards of the regional population.
