Founded by the national famous expert Prof. Xu Chunxiao in 1998, the Urology Surgery of the Second Hospital of Shandong University, thanks to unremitting efforts of two generations of doctors, has become a medical, scientific research and academic exchange center with obvious characteristics, first-class technology, complete sub-specialties and high reputation at home and abroad, and has made outstanding contributions to the development of urology surgery in China. In 2002, the Shandong University Urology Surgery Institute was established with the approval of the Board of Regents of Shandong University. Prof. Guo Yinglu from Peking University, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, serves as its honorary director and the chief expert of academic committee; the present director is Prof. Zhao Shengtian, who is a doctoral supervisor and Taishan Scholar, and the vice director is Prof. Liu Yuqiang, a famous urology surgery specialist in Shandong Province. Peter Ekman, the president of Sweden Urology Surgery Association and RUN Wang, the president of SMSNA and a famous male expert from USA, are the visiting professors.
